I believe that everyone has the ability to find answers within themselves.
My practice is characterised by creativity, utilising techniques such as sand tray work, art, fairy tales, and metaphors. Importantly, you don’t need to be an artist to engage in this creative process.
I will offer a warm friendly space, a comfy sofa and a cuppa for you to relax, so if talking is your thing, then we can do that to.
There is no pressure to be creative in our sessions, its just another way of expressing and exploring our feelings.
Working with children and young people often means that they don't have the words to explain their feelings. This is where creative counselling comes in. By using art supplies, toys, games or play, so much can be expressed, in a safe and comfortable environment.
SandStory Therapy® offers a gentle, safe and unique way of using sand and symbols in a contained tray to support a client's process ... so that they can 'tell their story in the sand'; whilst encouraging a respectful and sensitive dialogue between the unconscious and the conscious so that the wisdom from within is heard, seen and experienced. In turn, this is taken into daily life and natural, very organic shifts occur.
The Drawing and Talking therapeutic intervention allows individuals to discover and communicate emotions through a non-directed technique. This is what sets Drawing and Talking apart from existing solution-focused and cognitive-based therapies and interventions.
